Death Anniversary Poems

I see you all day, everyday
Where ever I go
Yet I still remain inexistant to your train of thoughts.
I am your unconditional friend and
Without you knowing:
I try and steer you clear of “my story”
I was once like you, you know –
Young, carefree, pure and full of oday’s glory
But then I changed –
I had a secret I knew I couldn’t tell.
But now my secret is worth telling
It’s the secret of my death…

Everyday in some small way
Memories of you come our way.
Though absent, you are always near
Still missed, loved and always dear.

It's been a year and it's safe to say, I still think about you everyday,
I might not hope or even pray I just love and miss you in my own special way,

(My best friend forever you will always stay.)

In my arms I held you tight
Through the hardest part of life
In my heart the memories clear
Of the greatest mum I love so dear
I held you so close to my heart
Praying that we'll never part
But angels came and took you away
And a tear I shed for your everyday
Now a shining lit up star
My mum will watch from up far
In all the pain I'm going through
Just remember, I'm here with you

When I was a baby,
you would hold me in your arms.
I felt the love and tenderness,
keeping me safe from harm.
I would look up into your eyes,
and all the love I would see.
How did I get so lucky,
you were the dad chosen for me.
There is something special
about a father's love.
Seems it was sent to me
from someplace up above.
Our love is everlasting;
I just wanted you to know.
That you're my special hero
And I wanted to tell you so.

O-ne year ago you died, and still we mourn,
N-or will our mourning end till it be night,
E-ven as time turns our tears to light
Y-ears hence, when this may be more easily borne.
E-ach moment of your passion and delight,
A-s clear as sunshine, bountiful and bright,
R-emains our fortune now that you are gone.

I know a wedding or birthday anniversary
comes with presents and things.
a chance to be happy for each other
But sadness is key
to ever single memory
because it makes the happiness better
if it's the chance to remember.
both sides of a coin, It won't hold together ,
won't last forever, if you can't take the chance,
the opportunity,
To remember every single anniversary
even the ones for your death

Words, however kind,
can't mend your heartache:
but those who care and ,
share your loss wish you,
comfort and peace of mind.,
May you find strength,
in the love of family,
and in the warm embrace,
of friends.,

Those who mean the most to us
Are never really gone.

For in our thoughts and in our hearts
Their memory still lives on

So may you find that passing time
Can somehow help to heal

Those memories will ease the loss
And sorrow that you feel

You are not alone today
Nor will you be tomorrow

For warmest thoughts of those who care
Are with you in your sorrow

And may it comfort you to know
Your loved ones are thought of too

By everyone who shares the loss
Of one so dear to you

I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new
I thought about you yesterday and days before that too,

I think of you in silence I often speak your name
All I have are memories and your picture in a frame

Your memory is my keepsake with which I'll never part
God has you in His keeping I have you in my heart.

It feels like only yesterday I heard the news,
I remember so clearly my family in the pews,

The tears streaming down my face,
Her little dress made of lace,

The face of an angel,
She was only a child,

Her eyes so free and wild,
In memory of her I will sit in silence,

On the day she passed away,
One year ago...

It feels like only yesterday.

Let me be sad today,
give me this day to mourn

It's the date my little son died
and also the date he was born.

Let me think back to his birth,
the fear of viewing him, dead.

Memories of holding him close,
and cradling his little head.

Allow me tears to cry,
love fills my heart to the brim.

Spilling it on those close by,
while always longing for him.

My painful memories, the same day every year
it's the day that I have now come to fear

I know that I will start to cry
anniversary of the day you died

The first one that's not a celebration
I know anniversary's are meant to be happy

But just this once, just this time,
Memories I can't forget, that make me cry

Every year without knowing it I have passed the day
When the last fires will wave to me
And the silence will set out
Tireless traveller
Like the beam of a lightless star

Then I will no longer
Find myself in life as in a strange garment
Surprised at the earth
And the love of one woman
And the shamelessness of men
As today writing after three days of rain
Hearing the wren sing and the falling cease
And bowing not knowing to what.
